The KCO-QDD-400G-SR4.2-BD fiber optic module is a 400GBASE-SR4 Cisco Compatible QSFP-DD (Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable – Double Density) Bi-Direction optical Transceiver designed for operation over Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF).
The KCO-QDD-400G-SR4.2-BD 400GBASE-SR4.2 module features an MTP/MPO-12 connector, supporting distances up to 150m over parallel OM4 OM5 multi-mode fiber. It is capable of supporting Ethernet links of up to 400 Gigabits and up to four 100 Gigabit Ethernet breakout link lengths.
As a QSFP-DD transceiver designed for 400G Ethernet, it is typically used in data centers for shorter-reach, high-density links up to 100 meters over multi-mode fiber. Its primary application is for 400G to 4x100G breakout, allowing a single 400G port to be split into four 100G ports to connect to multiple servers or network devices. The "BD" signifies that it uses bidirectional lanes with two 50G wavelengths on parallel fiber pairs, requiring a paired module with complementary wavelengths to complete the connection.
It is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3 protocol and 400GAUI-8/PAM4 standard. The built-in digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) allows access to real-time operating parameters, making it ideal for 400G ethernet and data center interconnect applications. It also supports 4 × 100G-SR1.2 configurations. Compatibility is validated in Arista/NVIDIA/Cisco RoCE Networking environments, with primary application in 400G Ethernet Data Centre Interconnects.
