Pioneering standard and custom optical transceivers, active cabling systems, and structural distribution hardware built for zero-packet-loss architectures.
Established in 2012 in Hong Kong as a high-technology communication enterprise, Kocent Optec Limited has emerged as one of China's premier manufacturers and end-to-end solution providers for fiber optic termination and active optoelectronic devices. Our operational model is centered on absolute precision, high material integrity, and comprehensive conformance to global telecommunication standards.
We focus on the design, development, and high-volume fabrication of fiber optic systems, spanning passive structural cabling assets to high-end active transceivers (such as the 100G SFP/QSFP28 systems). Our solutions support telecom providers, enterprise hyperscale data networks, and distributed edge clouds globally. We align our manufacturing practices with strict international norms to deliver a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for global network deployments.
As modern infrastructure transitions to higher spectral efficiencies, the term 100 Gigabit SFP has expanded from standard SFP footprints to more dense configurations like QSFP28 (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable 28) and the emerging SFP-DD (Small Form-factor Pluggable Double Density). In standard high-capacity switches, QSFP28 remains the dominant standard for 100G transmission due to its optimal balance of thermal dissipation, spatial footprint, and power efficiency.
100G QSFP28 transceivers utilize 4 parallel electrical channels, each operating at 25 Gbps (NRZ modulation) to aggregate a total bandwidth of 100 Gbps. High-density SFP-DD configurations utilize 2 channels of PAM4 signaling at 50 Gbps to achieve the same throughput in a smaller physical outline. Kocent Optec optimizes board layouts to minimize cross-talk and insertion loss.
Depending on reach requirements, we use VCSEL lasers for cost-sensitive multimode short-reach applications (SR4, up to 100m) and high-performance DML (Distributed Feedback) or EML (Electro-absorption Modulated) lasers for single-mode, long-reach applications (LR4, ER4, up to 40km). Each laser type undergoes extensive testing to prevent premature degradation.
For large deployments, Silicon Photonics (SiPh) integrates optical waveguides, modulators, and photodetectors onto a single silicon chip. This approach minimizes components, simplifies packaging, and improves reliability compared to traditional discrete optical setups.
Through our dedicated OEM/ODM design pipelines, we configure transceivers for compatibility with diverse firmware requirements, digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/DOM), and customized power classes (Class 1 through Class 4). This flexibility ensures compliance with the strict operating limits of modern enterprise and telecommunication switches.
By leveraging our extensive manufacturing history and agile production capabilities, we deliver targeted outcomes for our global customers. We focus on direct customer collaboration, serving as a design and production partner to address custom electrical parameters and specific optical requirements. Our differentiator lies in building systems that fit seamlessly into existing architectures.
Our commitment to rigorous manufacturing standards helps prevent packet losses, link flappings, and early optical module degradation. By using premium components, we improve system longevity and help our customers maintain stable, long-term network performance.
Modern telecommunication networks require tailored optical designs to handle varying thermal conditions, physical space limits, and fiber conditions. Our 100G transceivers are optimized for diverse deployment scenarios worldwide:
Modern web-scale data centers rely on leaf-spine architectures that require high-density, low-latency interconnections. Our 100G QSFP28 SR4 and CWDM4 transceivers, paired with low-loss MPO/MTP structured cabling systems, enable stable connections over both multimode and single-mode fiber arrays. This configuration supports high data throughput and helps minimize operational power requirements.
5G networks demand low latency and high bandwidth under variable environmental conditions. In metropolitan environments, we offer industrial-temperature (I-Temp, -40°C to 85°C) 100G modules designed for outdoor cabinets. These modules include built-in OTS (Optical Transport System) features to ensure signal integrity across key optical links.
For connectivity spanning distances from 10km to 40km, our 100G QSFP28 LR4 and ER4 modules feature high-sensitivity receivers (using APD photodiodes) and low-noise transmitters. These components help mitigate chromatic dispersion, allowing long-distance data transmission without the need for inline optical amplifiers.
As data requirements increase globally, our optical solutions help mitigate latency, decrease power draw per gigabit of data transmitted, and provide clear path upgrades to 200G and 400G configurations.
Our manufacturing facility in China integrates with regional supply chains for optical sub-assemblies (TOSA/ROSA), high-precision PCBs, optical fibers, and mechanical housings. This direct access allows Kocent Optec to manage raw materials effectively, scale production to meet large orders, and maintain stable pricing structures.
We work with established regional logistics hubs in Hong Kong and Shenzhen to coordinate global shipping. This infrastructure supports dependable lead times and provides customs clearance support to minimize project delays for our clients.
